Week 3 – Volunteer Project

Cape-Town is one of the Worlds’ most beautiful cities, frequented by tourists across the world. Most don’t really get a feel for the city and its inhabitants. The popular tourist sites are beautiful but they hide the reality of Cape-Town and the debilitating poverty that the majority of the city’s residents live in.

The townships of Cape-Town grow daily as people flock from the outlying rural areas in search of employment.

We work with a variety of projects that will allow you to really understand post-apartheid South-Africa and her people.

We match your volunteer trip to the charity that most needs your help at the time of your visit. You could find yourself building houses in the townships one day, assisting in a soup kitchen, helping out at the Cape Refugee Centre (CRC), an AIDS orphanage or teaching English to underprivileged school kids.

During your week you will be exposed to the local language, Xhosa, so you will get the opportunity to try your language skills!

  • Day 16: Township tour. Xhosa lessons.
