Zimbabwe National Parks Big 5 Wildlife Conservation Experience

Africa is a place of the senses: the sound of untamed wildlife; the feel of the rhythm of its people; the sight of an African sun rising across open plains; the smell of rain on a dry earth; and the taste of untamed adventure… Through our exciting Zimbabwe National Parks Big 5 Wildlife Conservation Programme we invite you to join us on a journey that will lead you to explore, to inspire, and to impact.

  • Introduction:
    • African Impact is one of the few privileged conservation organisations to have permission to operate our volunteer programmes within a number of Zimbabwe's most exciting and interesting National Parks. The permits include access to the relevant National Parks for all off-road areas, as well as at night. This is hugely exciting in terms of our goals for conservation in Zimbabwe, and adds enormously to the areas in which we will be effective in implementing high-impact conservation initiatives.
    • During our Big 5 conservation experience you will play a vital role in our conservation and research work in the Victoria Falls National Park, Hwange National Park, the Matobo National Park and the Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy. You will also have the chance to spend time at our Antelope Park lion breeding and rehabilitation project and walk with the king of beasts in our spearhead project for the release of lions back into the wild…
    • Along with our experienced African Impact project managers, professional guides and the assistance of our consultant Drs of Ecology and Zoology plus two qualified veterinarians we have developed very unique and special programmes and projects that will contribute directly and significantly towards conservation in Zimbabwe, and research objectives on an Africa-wide scale.
    • You will have the opportunity to immerse yourselves in wide-scale and intensive conservation management and wildlife assistance, and increase your knowledge of African bush and cultures through our Pathfinders Cultural Familiarisation and Bush Awareness course. You will also visit some of Zimbabwe’s premier tourist spots, and walk with lions at our breeding and rehabilitation programme at Antelope Park in the Zimbabwe Midlands.
