Sample 2
- Day 1 – overnight on plane
- The first stay is spent in the UK transferring to London Heathrow for your overnight flight to Johannesburg on South African Airways.
- Day 2 – Victoria Falls
- You arrive in the early morning and transit through to your flight to Victoria Falls. After the 2 hour flight to Victoria Falls you will be met at the airport by our overland truck and African Impact guides. After a short transfer to your accommodation the guides will give you a briefing on what to expect and how to make the most of your trip as well as sort out your programme for the next two days at Victoria Falls.
- Day 3 – Victoria Falls
- Victoria Falls – one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” or “The smoke that thunders”, by the local Batonga people, the falls are both thrilling and captivating. Victoria Falls is the adventure capital of the world and here you will have opportunities to go white water rafting on the largest commercially rafted rapids in the world, bungee jump, ride elephants, encounter lions and a whole lot more. In the evening we will have a great night out at The Boma 'Place of Eating' a traditional,buffet style restaurant where you can try all types of game meat, traditional foods and of course more western food.
- Day 4 – Chobe National Park
- A short drive today as we cross the Zimbabwean border into Botswana to reach Kasane. The gateway to Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park is known for its great elephant herds. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the National Park on both a boat cruise and game drive
- Day 5 - Caprivi
- Today we cross the Chobe river when we cross the Botswana border into Namibia. Tonight we will be camping on the banks of a river in the Caprivi Strip which may years ago was an area that was war torn. It is the meeting point of 5 African nations – Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Angola
- Day 6 – Okavango Delta
- We cross back into Botswana this morning as we head south for the Okavango Delta. The night is spent on the fringes of the Delta.
- Day 7 - Okavango Delta
- The impressive Okavango River spills its contents into the Kalahari Desert to create one of the world’s only true inland deltas. We set up camp on islands in the Delta and spend the next two days exploring its waterways by foot and dugout canoes (mokoros). The Okavango supports a unique ecosystem that boasts an abundance of animal and plant life. Our days will be full as we track the many different species that rely on the Okavango for their survival as well as simply enjoy the remoteness and tranquillity of the area
- Day 8 – Okavango Delta
- Day 8 is also spent in the Okavango Delta exploring this truly amazing area.
- Day 9 – Rundu
- We leave Botswana for the last time today as we enter Namibia for Rundu. Rundu is on the Kavango River and here you can enjoy relaxing by the waters edge or go on a sunset cruise.
- Day 10 – Etosha National Park
- In the morning we head for Etosha Pans, the salt pans span 5000 square kilometres of desert-like landscape with surrounding mopane and acacia scrubland and grasslands. The Etosha National Park is one of the greatest wildlife viewing parks in Africa.
- Day 11 – Etosha National Park
- Today we spend that day in Etosha National Park enjoying wildlife at its best
- Day 12 – Kamanjab
- We leave Etosha National Park this morning and head west to the small town of Kamanjab where we will be visiting and staying at the Otjitotongwe Cheetah Project. A project that is heavily involved in conserving cheetah in Namibia. We will get the opportunity to learn more about the project and view the cheetah
- Day 13 – Spitzkoppe
- The Spitzkoppe, a sacred site of the San people, is a mysterious site with their enormous granite rocks developed more than 100million years ago due to volcanic activities and subsequent erosional activity. Spitzkoppe is one of Namibia's most photographed sites.
- Day 14 - Swakopmund
- Swakopmund is Namibia's second largest city and is the gateway to all sorts of activities in the desert and on the coast line. Plenty of activities are available to you here from sandboarding and quadbiking to deep see fishing.
- Day 15 – Swakopmund
- Today is spent in Swakopmund exploring the town, relaxing and preparing for the school visit
- Day 16-19 – Rural School
- We head out of the tourist haven of Swakopmund today for an experience that you will never forget. A school in the region will be selected for you to spend the next 4 days at. Over these four days you will both laugh and cry as you experience what life is really like in the schools of Namibia. The physical work you will be involved in will go a long way and will be hugely appreciated.
- Day 20 - Depart
- This morning we say goodbye to all our friends at the school and head for the capital city, Windhoek where you will catch your plane to Johannesburg and then on to London
- Day 21
- Today sees you landing in famliar territory, London Heathrow and heading home.
