Hwange & Matobo National Parks Itinerary







  • Project Typical Day:
    • 06:00 – Head out for an early morning drive, and conduct road strip counts, spoor transects and note down locations and GPS information on animals sighted
    • 08:30am – Breakfast
    • 09:30 –Leave camp with Jerry, Mike and Lucie for a walk in the Dete Annexe to conduct snare sweeps and take down information on species sighted, including any small carnivores
    • 13:00pm – Lunch and siesta until about 14.30
    • 14:30 – 17:30 – We will take you to Dete village where you are able to participate in the local Red Cross feeding programme, and then be involved in the Elephant Pepper programme, discussing new methods and areas of distribution of chilli pastes with local villagers, etc.
    • 19:00pm - Dinner

    NB: At any given time during the day there is a possibility of receiving a call to assist a snared animal, in which case everything is dropped and the snared animal becomes the priority of the day.
