Zimbabwe National Parks Big 5 Wildlife Conservation Experience Itinerary

Week 1: Pathfinders - preparing travellers to Africa for the onset of the customs and culture of this land. It will introduce you to the flavours and tastes of her food, create awareness towards the sites and sounds of her bush... and instruct you on how to survive, to adapt, to fully understand and appreciate the temperament of this tremendous continent.
Week 2: Victoria Falls National Park - a combination of work on our lion breeding and rehabilitation programme that is an extension of our Antelope Park programme, along with National Parks conservation work and community development initiatives. The lion programme entails hands-on experience with our lion cubs as they prepare for their eventual release into the wild.
Week 3: Hwange National Park - an exciting programme where snare sweeps, game counts, visual observations and the darting of snared animals and the subsequent removal of these snares are all important aspects of wildlife conservation.
Week 4: Matobo National Park - We are working alongside experienced ecologists and zoologists to gather essential data on various wildlife species and their habitats that will be used by National Parks rangers to add to the effectiveness of their conservation work in and around this National Park area. Our aim is for this programme to be a type of ‘science camp’ for aspiring wildlife conservationists, researchers, zoologists, etc. You will have the chance to learn more about research methodologies and data capture under the supervision of our experienced project managers.
Week 5-6: Midlands Black Rhino Programme - This World Wildlife Fund (WWF) endorsed programme of the Midlands black rhino conservancy is located in the heart of Zimbabwe Midlands. 17 properties have combined to form a wildlife sanctuary area and teams of researchers and conservationists undertake to gather essential information on the rhino population through monitoring, tracking and data collection.
Week 7: Antelope Park - From the Black Rhino Conservancy we will transfer you 4 hours by road to Antelope Park. We have included this final week as a holiday section of your programme. Antelope Park is the perfect place to relax after your time in the bush. You will be able to take part in activities such as canoeing the river, horseback riding and game viewing.
