Hwange & Matobo National Parks

Our Miombo Camp is the base for this stimulating, exciting and rewarding programme. Our recent invitation from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife to join them in their conservation efforts allows African Impact volunteers to work inside the Hwange National Park, as well as to maintain conservation areas bordering the area.
From the Hwange National Park project we then offer you the opportunity to move on to the World Heritage Site Matobo National Park. Our project base within the National Park is nestled amongst the magnificent granite domes of the Matobo Hills, and is perfectly located to accommodate this multifaceted programme.
We are working alongside experienced ecologists and zoologists to gather essential data on various wildlife species and their habitats that will be used by National Parks rangers to add to the effectiveness of their conservation work in and around this National Park area. Our aim is for this programme to be a type of ‘science camp’ for aspiring wildlife conservationists, researchers, zoologists, etc. You will have the chance to learn more about research methodologies and data capture under the supervision of our experienced project managers.
Combination options: Please note that we are more than happy to accommodate you on the Hwange project for 4 weeks, or a combination of the Hwange project for 3 weeks and the Matobo project for 1 week.
